An official announcement stated that nearly 29 sorting robots assist employees in a 562 square meter warehouse by sorting 1.400 – 1.500 parcels per hour.
Employees will now load ordered goods onto sorting robots, automatically transferring them to one of the 104 sorting cages bound for various destinations, based on a simple chutes layout made up of QR codes. Companies can scale operations flexibly when there is a sudden shift in throughput demand by simply altering the number of robots and sorting destinations since there is no need for wires or fixed infrastructure.
Jackson Zhang, President of Geek+ Europe, said that they are very excited to see their sorting robots support Athinaiki S.A.’s last-mile delivery services with their speed and accuracy. With Geek+ and FDL, intelligent automation is easily accessible to Greek companies.
Vassilis Karakoulakis – Chairman of FDL GROUP, said that they see it as their responsibility to explore new technologies to enhance the streamlined supply chain operations and collaborate with local pioneers like Athinaiki S.A. to promote the transition from physical stores to e-commerce. Geek+ adaptable sorting robots present them with an effective tool that stretches their reach, enabling them to assist SMEs and big brands alike meet customer expectations for reliable and efficient services to compete and flourish.
